Late this summer I headed down to Union Pier, MI to Goldberry Woods. My oh my, is this place magical. An Inn with several properties tucked in 30 acres just one mile from Lake Michigan. The minute you pull into this place you feel its earthy hug and the warmth from the people who own it. In the doors I found Catherine and Alex and felt the same from them. This wedding is some of my favorite work from my entire year and I felt myself having onto every moment with this couple who has spent so many years together and their strength in each other and admiration for each other radiated off of them They had such a quiet joy to them that could truly be felt. They rented the entire property for their friends and family to stay for the weekend and after hearing stories and seeing pictures of the night before, I wish I’d bee there too. One of my favorite little nuggets from the day was two little girls, cousins I believe, who hadn’t seen each other since they’ve been toddlers but have been pen pals for years, finally seeing each other in person and embracing one another. It was the most magical moment that makes you crave childhood. Everything about this wedding was set in effortless intention. Plus we have the exact same taste in music and when the Tallest Man on Earth and Bon Iver plays during a wedding, you know you’ve found your people. Goldberry Woods, I will be back. I have to be.
