Family sessions are my favorite for a myriad of reasons. I’m a big fan of the chasing around, of the goofy kids, of the shy ones who need a minute to figure me out, letting the kids climb trees, throwing them up in the air and holding them close. I’m someone who doesn’t mind looking little odd while hopping up and down like a frog behind my camera to elicit the crack of a smile they might be holding in. I believe in meeting people where they're at and documenting the authenticity of what your life looks like right now.

I think as a parent, as a parter, as a son/daughter, the tenderness of wrapping your arms around each other is something we will always hold onto. I’m obsessed with the hugging pictures, of the putting your hands on each others faces and holding each other close. Whether it’s with your partner or your kids, it’s human connection, tenderness, kindness, playfulness and security. I want to package that up in a photograph so you never forget what it felt like to embrace those little arms or the arms of someone you’ve been with for 25+ years. I am so passionate about photographing families. Simple and Happy, that’s what I strive to give you.

Pricing Details:

Shortie Session - 25 minutes $275 anywhere near GR
Online gallery with edited images + hi-res download + printing rights.
Repeat clients: $250

Full Session: 45 minutes - 1 hr $350
near Grand Rapids and beyond (with a travel fee.)

Other details:
- Lakeshore sessions are +$75
- I encourage you to order prints right through your gallery (anyone you share the link with can do the same) but I do also give other printing recs.
- Turn around time for edited images in approx. 2 weeks
- High School seniors can choose one outfit and location for a short session. 2-3 changes for a full session. Add 30 mins for multiple locations for +$50
- Lifestyle newborn sessions are full session only. Most people opt for the shortie for their maternity session. Studio rental available for +$60

 The Whole Family
I believe that when it comes to family pictures the traditional portrait matters as much as the lifestyle candid. I aim to give you both. During these sessions I encourage the kids to play and the families to snuggle up. The beautiful memories of the cousins playing together as kids will be just as cherished as the big shot of everyone looking at the camera. Aside from the big group shot, during these sessions I make time to photograph each individual family, couples, siblings, grandparents and the grandkids and so on. I love to get any and every combo.

Depending on the size of the group, these sessions usually take about one hour to 90 minutes. I love to photograph these at one of your family homes, a park, the beach or I highly recommend renting somewhere like the Grand Rapids Downtown Market to make sure all of that coordinating doesn’t get squashed by some rain.

I also recommend buddying them up to a family event. Whether you are all getting together for your Dad’s birthday or your Grandmas 90th birthday party, I’d love to be there. You can also add additional time for event coverage. Contact me for a quote.
